Bathroom Renovation in The Annex

Get A Quick Quote

It’s common for Annex homes converted into rentals to have picked up extra bathrooms along the way, sometimes squeezed into former closets or bedroom corners to serve multiple tenants. iRemodel Home Renovation Toronto helps Annex homeowners consolidate these add-on bathrooms into fewer, better-designed spaces, or simply modernize a century bathroom that’s kept its original layout.

What’s Involved in an Annex Bathroom Renovation

Bathroom renovations typically take 2 to 4 weeks and range from $15,000 to $30,000 or more for a full 3-piece bathroom. Common Annex projects include:

Removing an add-on rental-era bathroom and restoring the space to its original use
Consolidating plumbing from multiple bathrooms into fewer, more efficient locations
Replacing original or early-generation plumbing that’s often decades overdue for an upgrade

Local Considerations for Annex Properties

Bathrooms added during a rental conversion sometimes weren’t permitted at the time, which can surface during a renovation once walls are opened up. Our team confirms permit history where possible and manages the City of Toronto building permit process for any new plumbing or structural work going forward.

Why Annex Homeowners Choose iRemodel

Untangling plumbing that was added piecemeal over decades of rental conversions takes real experience with older housing stock, not just a standard renovation checklist. Our licensed plumbers assess the full system before any work begins, and every project is backed by a one-year warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can an unpermitted, rental-era bathroom be removed or relocated safely?

Yes. We assess the existing plumbing and structure first, then either remove it and patch the space or bring it up to current code if you’d like to keep it.

Do older Annex homes usually need a full plumbing upgrade during a bathroom renovation?

Often, yes, particularly if the bathroom was added during a past conversion rather than built with the original house.

How long does a full bathroom renovation take?

Most projects take 2 to 4 weeks from demolition to final walkthrough.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I found iRemodel through Google, and I’m so glad I chose them. He worked on my late mother’s house, which is very sentimental to my sisters and me, so it was important to find someone we could trust. He worked on the powder room and he was professional, went above and beyond, and stayed in consistent communication throughout the entire process. He was also very punctual. if he said he would arrive at 8 a.m., he was there right on time and always left at a reasonable hour. I truly appreciate the care and respect he showed while working on such a meaningful space. I would highly recommend iRemodel to anyone looking for reliable and thoughtful service. I would definitely look forward to working with him again in the future.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I couldn’t be happier with my condo renovation — the transformation is absolutely stunning! From start to finish, the team brought incredible vision, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. They completely reimagined the layout by knocking down a wall to create a spacious, open studio that feels bright, modern, and so much larger than before. The seamless porcelain tile installed throughout the entire unit not only looks beautiful but also makes the space feel cohesive and high-end. One of my favorite upgrades is the newly created space for our washer and dryer — such a smart and functional addition, that added real convenience. They also sealed the kitchen bar to create a more defined separation between the kitchen and living area, which improved both flow and functionality. The fresh white paint brightened everything instantly, and the addition of track lighting in the living room gave the space a clean, contemporary feel while adding warmth and ambiance. Overall the quality of the work was exceptional and communication was smooth throughout the entire project. If you’re looking for a team that delivers beautiful results and truly elevates your space, I highly recommend Dave and his team at iRemodel!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I am very content with the renovation of this unit. From the moment you walk in, it’s immediately clear how much care, thought, and craftsmanship went into redoing both the kitchen and the bathroom. The transformation is truly impressive and has elevated the entire space to feel modern, fresh, and incredibly inviting. The kitchen is a standout. Everything feels thoughtfully designed and well executed—from the updated cabinetry and sleek finishes to the overall layout, which now feels both functional and modern. The materials used are clearly high quality, and the attention to detail really shows. It’s the kind of kitchen that not only looks great but also feels practical for everyday use, whether you’re cooking a full meal or just enjoying the space. The updates make it feel contemporary without being overdone, striking a perfect balance between comfort and sophistication. The bathroom renovation is equally impressive. It feels clean, modern, and cozy, with updated fixtures and finishes that give the space a polished, refreshed feel. Everything is brand new, well-installed, and cohesive. The design choices make the bathroom feel more spacious and thoughtfully laid out, and it’s clear that functionality and aesthetics were both top priorities. It’s a space that feels relaxing and well cared for—exactly what you want in a newly renovated bathroom. Overall, this renovation was exceptionally well done. The upgrades to both the kitchen and bathroom significantly enhance the value and livability of the unit, and the quality of the work is evident throughout. It feels like a complete refresh rather than just surface-level updates. Anyone looking to remodel their space will immediately appreciate the effort, craftsmanship, and attention to detail that went into the renovation. Highly recommend—this is a beautifully updated unit that was clearly renovated with care and pride. A job very well done!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We just got our bathroom remodeled after a good friend highly recommended iRemodel. I was hesitant at first but Dave and his crew delivered on time, on budget and the bathroom now looks amazing. There was minimal dust and the team really paid attention to details. A couple times there seemed to be issues but the team was so good in making sure to find solution and solved the problem. We were most surprised that the project actually finished on time as promised. I would highly recommend. Thanks Dave and team for turning our dark and unwelcoming space into a bright bathroom that the girls now love to use.
