Basement Renovation in Forest Hill

Get A Quick Quote

With larger footprints than most Toronto properties, Forest Hill basements often have the square footage to become genuine amenity spaces rather than simple rec rooms — home theatres, wine cellars, and full home gyms are common requests. iRemodel Home Renovation Toronto builds these spaces to the same finish standard as the rest of the home.

What’s Involved in a Forest Hill Basement Renovation

Forest Hill basement projects commonly include:

Home theatres with soundproofing, custom lighting, and integrated technology
Wine cellars and bar areas with climate control and custom cabinetry
Home gyms and wellness spaces, sometimes paired with a spa-style bathroom

Basement finishing at this scale typically takes 8 to 14 weeks depending on scope, with custom features like theatres or wine cellars adding to both timeline and budget beyond a standard basement finish.

Local Considerations for Forest Hill Properties

Larger basement projects, particularly those involving new plumbing for a bar or bathroom, electrical for home theatre or gym equipment, or any excavation work, require a City of Toronto building permit. We manage the full application and inspection process alongside the specialty trades these projects require.

Why Forest Hill Homeowners Choose iRemodel

Custom amenity spaces need more coordination than a standard basement finish, from soundproofing specialists to climate-control systems for wine storage. Our in-house team manages this coordination directly, and every project is backed by a one-year warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a basement be designed for both a home theatre and a separate entertaining area?

Yes. We plan the layout to zone these spaces acoustically and functionally, so a home theatre doesn’t compete with an adjoining bar or lounge area.

Do wine cellars require special climate control systems?

Yes, proper temperature and humidity control is essential for wine storage, and we integrate this into the basement’s HVAC planning from the start.

How long does a custom basement renovation take in Forest Hill?

Most projects take 8 to 14 weeks depending on the number of specialty spaces involved and the extent of custom finishing.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I found iRemodel through Google, and I’m so glad I chose them. He worked on my late mother’s house, which is very sentimental to my sisters and me, so it was important to find someone we could trust. He worked on the powder room and he was professional, went above and beyond, and stayed in consistent communication throughout the entire process. He was also very punctual. if he said he would arrive at 8 a.m., he was there right on time and always left at a reasonable hour. I truly appreciate the care and respect he showed while working on such a meaningful space. I would highly recommend iRemodel to anyone looking for reliable and thoughtful service. I would definitely look forward to working with him again in the future.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I couldn’t be happier with my condo renovation — the transformation is absolutely stunning! From start to finish, the team brought incredible vision, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. They completely reimagined the layout by knocking down a wall to create a spacious, open studio that feels bright, modern, and so much larger than before. The seamless porcelain tile installed throughout the entire unit not only looks beautiful but also makes the space feel cohesive and high-end. One of my favorite upgrades is the newly created space for our washer and dryer — such a smart and functional addition, that added real convenience. They also sealed the kitchen bar to create a more defined separation between the kitchen and living area, which improved both flow and functionality. The fresh white paint brightened everything instantly, and the addition of track lighting in the living room gave the space a clean, contemporary feel while adding warmth and ambiance. Overall the quality of the work was exceptional and communication was smooth throughout the entire project. If you’re looking for a team that delivers beautiful results and truly elevates your space, I highly recommend Dave and his team at iRemodel!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I am very content with the renovation of this unit. From the moment you walk in, it’s immediately clear how much care, thought, and craftsmanship went into redoing both the kitchen and the bathroom. The transformation is truly impressive and has elevated the entire space to feel modern, fresh, and incredibly inviting. The kitchen is a standout. Everything feels thoughtfully designed and well executed—from the updated cabinetry and sleek finishes to the overall layout, which now feels both functional and modern. The materials used are clearly high quality, and the attention to detail really shows. It’s the kind of kitchen that not only looks great but also feels practical for everyday use, whether you’re cooking a full meal or just enjoying the space. The updates make it feel contemporary without being overdone, striking a perfect balance between comfort and sophistication. The bathroom renovation is equally impressive. It feels clean, modern, and cozy, with updated fixtures and finishes that give the space a polished, refreshed feel. Everything is brand new, well-installed, and cohesive. The design choices make the bathroom feel more spacious and thoughtfully laid out, and it’s clear that functionality and aesthetics were both top priorities. It’s a space that feels relaxing and well cared for—exactly what you want in a newly renovated bathroom. Overall, this renovation was exceptionally well done. The upgrades to both the kitchen and bathroom significantly enhance the value and livability of the unit, and the quality of the work is evident throughout. It feels like a complete refresh rather than just surface-level updates. Anyone looking to remodel their space will immediately appreciate the effort, craftsmanship, and attention to detail that went into the renovation. Highly recommend—this is a beautifully updated unit that was clearly renovated with care and pride. A job very well done!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We just got our bathroom remodeled after a good friend highly recommended iRemodel. I was hesitant at first but Dave and his crew delivered on time, on budget and the bathroom now looks amazing. There was minimal dust and the team really paid attention to details. A couple times there seemed to be issues but the team was so good in making sure to find solution and solved the problem. We were most surprised that the project actually finished on time as promised. I would highly recommend. Thanks Dave and team for turning our dark and unwelcoming space into a bright bathroom that the girls now love to use.
